About Green Charcoal
Green Charcoal is a Briquette manufacturing company registered by the government of Uganda as a limited Liability Company with country-wide operations though physically located in Tororo – eastern Uganda.
We manufacture briquette from agricultural waste like palm kernel husk
s; Rice husks; Coffee husks; and maize cobs to obtain an efficiently cheap source of fuel that c
ompletely replaces charcoal and firewood. Giving trees another life by avoiding the use of charcoal that is very much hurting our ecosystem.
We are aware that Uganda us a country depends 90% on biomass as the primary source of energy. http://energyandminerals.go.ug/downloads/BEDS-Contents.pdf
We dry our carbonized briquette using our environmentally sustainable solar driers and pack them in affordable 25kg packs.
We reach our clients via Supermarkets, Fuel stations, charcoal dealer agents who we work together with to sell our products as well on commission basis.
Meet Our Team
We have a team of committed personnel who make sure that such great work is done and all targets are met. Below, you may see three key persons in Green Charcoal Uganda
“Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world. Science is the highest personification of the nation because that nation will remain the first which carries the furthest the works of thought and intelligence.”
Since briquettes are created from compressing combustible materials, they are denser, harder, and more compact. They have high specific density (1200kg/m3) and bulk density (800kg/m3) compared to 60 to 180 kg/m3 of loose bio mass. Thus, they offer a more concentrated form of energy than firewood or charcoal.
The compression process allows the briquettes to burn for a lot longer than if it was loose in its original condition.
Along with the compactness of the briquettes is the increase in heating value. Briquettes can relatively produce more intense heat than other fuel. They have a higher practical thermal value and much lower ash content (2-10% compare to 20-40% in coal). In fact, they are 40% more efficient, as well as hotter and longer lasting than firewood. This greater efficiency can be attributed to their low moisture and density.
This is a unique property of briquettes. Using them creates no smoke, soot, or carbon deposits. Depending on the base material, they produce no or little fly ash. Further, briquettes do not emit gases or any toxic chemicals like sulfur.
